Sustainable Features
The Koury Oral Health Sciences Building is registered as a LEED Silver Building. As part of the innovative strategy and reflecting the environmental consciousness of the project, the project team utilized an online document management system. Submittal Exchange provided an electronic means of storing and transmitting project documents for the entire team. We were not able to be 100% paperless on the project, but with Submittal Exchange we were probably 85% paperless and, based on their calculations, saved 113.4 trees, $228,391 in printing and shipping costs, and 31,241 shipping days. While these calculations may not be completely accurate, they do represent the impact that the electronic process had on the project and the efficiencies in time, money and materials.
