On Friday, June 1, KBR Building Group received the Certificate of Occupancy for Sysco Boston’s new warehouse, office and distribution center in Plympton, Massachusetts. Our project team achieved this milestone two months ahead of schedule while maintaining an outstanding safety record — 421,731 man-hours without a lost-time accident. KBR Building Group’s Greenville office is responsible for this $65-million project under a design-build contract with Sysco Corporation. Our primary design partner is AWB Engineers.

Chuck Fraser, Executive Vice President of Operations for Sysco Boston, praised our project team, saying “Thank you all for your hard work, your commitment to excellence and drive to succeed. Sysco Boston will rise to new heights as a result of your efforts.”

Greg Blinston, Senior Project Manager added, “This team took safety, quality, and perseverance to new levels and delivered a great facility to a core client ahead of schedule.”

KBR Building Group has completed multiple new construction projects and expansions at various Sysco locations in the Southeast, including Columbia, South Carolina; Raleigh, North Carolina; Suffolk, Virginia; and Knoxville, Tennessee.

Sysco Boston’s 632,767-square-foot facility features freezer, cooler, and refrigerated dock space; a dry warehouse; dry dock; office space; and a truck maintenance and fueling facility.
