KBR Building Group Named One of Charlotte's Best Places to Work
November 11, 2011

KBR Building Group is among an elite group of companies to make the 2011 list of Charlotte’s Best Places to Work following participating in a competition sponsored by the Charlotte Business Journal (CJB). A total of 60 companies in the Charlotte region were recognized as a Best Place to Work, based on surveys of their employees. Finalists were judged on their effectiveness in finding innovative ways to keep their employees happy and engaged. The list was published in CBJ’s November 11 issue. KBR Building Group appears in the Mid-Sized Businesses category.

CBJ’s feature article reads, “The Charlotte Business Journal’s annual Best Places to Work publication is about celebrating successes. The companies chosen for this honor have reason to celebrate — they have employees who enjoy working for them.”

KBR Building Group's Candace Watson, Mike Baumbach, Annie Hughes, Danny Mullis, David Stanton and Tom Haggard represented their Charlotte office colleagues at CBJ's 2011 Best Places to Work recognition luncheon held at the Charlotte Convention Center earlier this month.

Candace Watson, Human Resources Director, Building Group, proudly accepted the award on behalf of the Charlotte office. “This is a great place to work because of our people wanting to provide the best service to  our clients and employees. The Charlotte Office is home to our Operations team that works in many different areas across the Carolinas and the Southeast as well as many services that support employees across the KBR Building Group.  This award is for all Charlotte based employees who do what they do every day to make the KBR Building Group successful and a GREAT PLACE TO WORK.”

The nomination criteria required companies to be in business for at least two years and have at least 10 employees. Companies were required to have a presence in the 16-county Charlotte region. This is the second time KBR Building Group’s Charlotte office made CBJ’s list of Best Places to Work.

Earlier this year KBR Building Group’s Washington office was named the Overall No. 1 Best Places to Work by the Washington Business Journal, in the category Large Business/Non-Local Headquarters.
