BE&K Building Group’s Robert Judd Shares BIM Expertise with College Students
March 22, 2016

BE&K Building Group’s Robert Judd, RA, VDC Lead, recently made presentations to two South Carolina educational institutions demonstrating our use of current BIM technology. Robert is based at BE&K Building Group’s headquarters office in Greenville, South Carolina.

Earlier this month, Robert lectured on the “Basics of BIM & VDC in the Construction Industry” to a class in Greenville Technical College’s (Greenville Tech) Construction and Architectural  Engineering Technology  program. Greenville Tech’s Program Coordinator, Clay Gandy stated “This is really helpful to see the practical uses of what the students are learning in class.” To interact with the students and staff, Robert stayed after class to attend the Greenville Tech student AGC chapter monthly luncheon.

A few months ago (November 2015), Robert presented the “Basics of BIM Quantification and Estimating” to several estimating classes in the Clemson University Department of Construction Science and Management. This was the third year in a row that BE&K Building Group has presented to Clemson estimating students.  James P. Smith, Ph.D., Assistant Professor, noted “I just wanted to say thank you again for taking the time and making the effort to come to my classes. The students get a lot out of having industry people come and talk to them and your information is a great segue into the next semester... I am excited for the students to see where estimating is going.”
