Company-Wide Giving Back at All-Time High this Holiday Season for BE&K Building Group
January 1, 2016

BE&K Building Group offices and associated project teams across the country are known for proactively supporting their local communities in a variety of ways throughout the year. During the November-December holiday season, almost every office and project team chose to support the Toys for Tots program sponsored by the U.S. Marine Corps. Following are some other examples of how our people made a difference between Thanksgiving and New Year’s by helping their neighbors in need:

Greenville office employees collected children’s shoes, socks, toothbrushes/toothpaste for the local charity, “Christmas Shoes,” as employees in our Research Triangle Park office collected food for the Food Bank of North Carolina while also collecting personal care items for the Raleigh Rescue Mission.

In Charleston, a group delivered gifts to Hope Lodge, a facility that provides lodging to cancer patients who are undergoing treatment at local hospitals. Our donation included pantry items, snacks, drinks, socks, blankets, gift cards and cash. In Houston,  some of our team members and their families served
at the Houston Food Bank.

Our Chicago employees joined parent Pernix Group in multiple initiatives, such as sponsoring
an Angel Tree for the Salvation Army and collecting food for the People’s Resource Center.

In the Washington, D.C. area, a couple of our project teams “adopted” several families for the
holidays through Stillbrave, a childhood cancer foundation.
