ABC of the Carolinas Honors KBR Building Group with STEP Diamond Award at Annual Safety Conference

Dave Rouse, Senior HSE Manager, represented KBR Building Group at the 5th Annual Safety Conference sponsored by ABC of the Carolinas held on October 2 in Charlotte. At the safety awards luncheon, Dave proudly accepted the prestigious STEP Diamond Award on behalf of our company. The award was presented by Cherie Berry, North Carolina Commissioner of Labor (pictured with Dave).

KBR Building Group is also an active participant in the N.C. Department of Labor's (NCDOL) Carolina Star Program, which is designed to recognize and promote effective safety and health management systems. Dave was a presenter in the session, "At-Level Fall Injuries," during the NCDOL Star Program Conference held on September 17, 2014.

More about ABC's STEP Diamond Award
This is the third consecutive year that KBR Building Group has won ABC's STEP Diamond Award — the highest-level award in ABC's National Safety Training and Evaluation Process (STEP) program. As a national STEP award recipient, KBR Building Group has been recognized throughout 2014 by various local ABC chapters. Preceding the October 2 STEP Diamond Award presentation by ABC of the Carolinas, KBR Building Group was honored by ABC Delaware on May 1, ABC's Metro Washington and Virginia chapters on June 4, and ABC of Greater Houston on July 11.

More about NCDOL's Carolinas Star Program
Through the Carolinas Star program, management, labor and the state's Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) Division establish a cooperative relationship at a workplace that has implemented a strong program. KBR Building Group has been involved in the Carolinas Star Program since 2009. As of October 2014, KBR Building Group has three active Star projects: Novartis Vaccines and Diagnostics' Advanced Development Manufacturing (ADM) project in Holly Springs; Purdue Pharma Manufacturing L.P.'s Oral Solid Dosage Manufacturing Facility in Durham; and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools' Myers Park High School Building Program (Phase 2) in Charlotte.
