Celebrating Over 1 Million Safe Man-Hours at McLeod Health Jobsite in Florence, South Carolina
August 27, 2014

KBR Building Group's team at the McLeod Health project site in Florence, South Carolina, has exceeded 1 million man-hours without a lost-time incident! KBR has been on site at McLeod Health's main campus since 2011 when we kicked off our initial project, the Center for Intensive Care. After we got started, the project grew into a more extensive, phased building program.

As of last Wednesday, the project had logged 1,040,553 hours to date. Our team reached the 1 million safe man-hours milestone right before the 2014 Memorial Day weekend. Together with the Owner (McLeod Health), we celebrated this achievement with a worker appreciation luncheon at which everyone was given a commemorative t-shirt.

"Many of our field crews wear their t-shirts each week. On any given day, you can see a lot of yellow shirts in the field," said Project Manager Susan Garner. "Gerald Schultheis and Heath Brafford have been most instrumental in their oversight of safety, along with Tony Squires. They all have ensured our achievement of no lost-time incidents in over three years of construction at this site."

KBR Building Group is scheduled to complete the final phase of construction in December 2014.
