Project Team for Georgia Health Sciences University Dental School Celebrates Major Safety Milestone The Building Group’s project team for the Georgia Health Sciences University's (formerly Medical College of Georgia) new College of Dental Medicine in Augusta, Georgia, recently achieved a safety milestone — more than 600,000 man-hours worked without a lost-time accident or incident. To mark the occasion, our team hosted a tradeworker appreciation luncheon at the project site.

The Building Group’s site safety manager and general superintendent thanked the workers, emphasizing how exceptional this milestone is and how much we value their commitment to working safely. Over $4,000 worth of prizes donated by subcontractors and vendors were raffled off to the enthusiastic crowd of 410 people. Approximately 400 construction workers are on the jobsite on any given work day.

The Building Group’s Nashville and Atlanta offices are collaboratively providing construction management services for the five-story, 267,000-square-foot replacement dental school facility. executive Vice President Ed Smith noted, “This project not only demonstrates the Building Group's extensive capabilities in the higher education market, but also showcases expertise in the healthcare sector."

Construction began in October 2009. Completion is scheduled for May 31, 2011.
