Sustainable Features
Our Design-Build team worked closely with The Boeing Company to make sure their South Carolina 787 final assembly facility incorporated numerous energy efficiency measures. This began with condensate harvesting and water efficient fixtures to provide the building with 48% overall water savings. Boeing also committed to purchasing 100% renewable energy for all electrical usage at the new facility. Energy is harvested from a 2.6 megawatt photovoltaic solar panel array installed on the roof of the Final Assembly building by South Carolina Electric & Gas.

Boeing South Carolina is a Zero Waste to Landfill site. Zero Waste to Landfill means that none of the waste materials and by-products generated at the site reaches landfill. Waste material is recycled or reused or otherwise repurposed, reducing the site’s overall environmental footprint. A Green Building Education Initiative was implemented around campus to educate employees and visitors about the green strategies that have been installed.
